The McDowell County Project By  Alan Johnston

Alan Johnston’s efforts have created a CD that musically captures some of the memories of the heritage and history of McDowell County, WV. The performances by the artists, and the recording and final mixdown locally, demonstrate the professionalism and talent found throughout the area.

There’s a place in West Virginia
Where Heaven meets the ground
On the mountains and in the hollers
Where God still makes His rounds
And there you’ll find a people
With a spirit strong and proud
That God saw fit to place there
In The Free State of McDowell

– Alan Johnston
